Training Day

7-22-10 was training and orientation for all of the team. Church mission teams from Arkansas, Virginia, Florida, Texas, and Mississippi were on hand for the event with about 180 volunteers total. Today was geared at learning what the Salmon Frenzy was all about and what we could and could not do to assist the fishing process. Not being from Alaska, we cannot touch anything that is related to helping the natives fish. This means the fish itself, rods, nets, coolers, etc. We will be helping by providing water, picking up trash, parking, working with their children and providing food for them. The PBC Park Day has definitely been good training for our team.
Tomorrow the frenzy starts and we will be spending Friday, Saturday and Sunday on the beach from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. each day.
We are in good company. There are three teams here from Virginia. One from Bedford and one from Roanoke in addition to us. It has been great to meet new people. The kids are very excited about today and so are the adults. We are already excited about what the Lord will do this week. Continue praying for us and for the success as we work to reach people for Christ.

I was hoping to add some pictures, but our connection is not allowing it. I will add some when we get back home.
